These are just some of the key points that came up during the latest episode of \u2018Chiacchiere Elettriche\u2019 with Luca Mercalli and our CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/silla.industries\/chi-siamo\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/silla.industries\/chi-siamo\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alberto Stecca<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Luca Mercalli and his experience with electrical<\/h2>\n\n<p>That of traveling in an EV is a choice that, he tells us, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucamercalli.it\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.lucamercalli.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Luca<\/a> made a good <strong>11 years ago<\/strong>. His Peugeot iOn was probably one of the very first electric registrations in our country and still accompanies him today.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Based on his direct experience as an electric driver, we asked him,<strong>&#8220;Will the switch off of the endothermic engine have a significantly positive impact on the genuine reduction of CO2 emissions?&#8221;<\/strong> In all likelihood yes, <strong>but<\/strong> only and only if we are able to take positive action as key players in the change.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left tw-mt-0\" style=\"font-size:10px\"><em><strong>Note<\/strong>: By viewing this video you hereby consent to the use of YouTube&#8217;s cookies.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/Hj4kBHD2OHc\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" style=\"width: 560px !important; height: 315px !important;\"><\/iframe>\n\n<figcaption>Electric Chats with Luca Mercalli<\/figcaption>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Challenges for truly evolved mobility<\/h2>\n\n<p>The first node we addressed during the &#8220;<em>Electric Chats<\/em>&#8221; meeting with Mercalli concerns the challenges of <strong>manufacturing<\/strong>. The making of electric cars, right at the construction stage, must be oriented toward sustainability.  Questo significa progettare <strong>batterie<\/strong> composte da materiali <strong>riciclabili<\/strong>, che non impattino in modo troppo aggressivo e negativo un domani: sia in termini di smaltimento delle batterie a fine vita, sia in termini di estrazione delle risorse. <\/p>\n\n<p>To disregard this would be to make a mistake belonging to the past, and we would end up polluting, assaulting the subsoil in the hunt for hard-to-find raw materials as well as constantly feeding the cost of their extraction, production and final marketing. In other words, we will end up, once again, full of CO2 and with our pockets emptied by the crazy prices of raw materials.   <\/p>\n\n<p>Another factor that needs to be worked on as a priority is <strong>legislation<\/strong>. The ecological transition and the shift to sustainable mobility must not follow but must, rather, abandon the channels traveled by traditional mobility. One example? <strong>The car as a status symbol<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Projecting into the future means untying oneself from stale concepts such as the need for ownership of a super-performance car, as well as perhaps even the concept of vehicle ownership itself. Instead, to be preferred is the expansion of the <strong>rental network<\/strong> tomorrow by also taking advantage of the opportunities given by <strong>digitization<\/strong>. Stop not considering <strong>transition a central issue<\/strong> within the global debate. Where central also means liable to be considered a spending priority to the detriment, instead, of what actually happens: with ease funds are found to fuel conflicts and with extreme difficulty are found to support communities and solidarity also, indeed especially, energy.    <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Community<\/strong> is a concept that has taken on great value in Luke&#8217;s reflection. In a sustainable World there can be no inequality, no place for sovereignty or supremacy struggle. Only by nurturing a community, solidarity and unity vision of the world&#8217;s population can we really talk about the future. A generational pact that does not see the present as an endless horizon from which to extract every resource, making the evolution of life after us impossible. This is probably the value, the deeper meaning of the strategies in place to deal with climate change.    <\/p>\n\n<p>Transition is not just energy transition; it is courageously embracing another way of life.
