Of course, achieving an optimal charge level in a car with basic performance and battery capacity and in a top-of-the-line car are two different things. Also in terms of time.  <\/p>\n\n<p>A <strong>greater battery capacity<\/strong> corresponds to a <strong>greater amount of time needed for charging<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The first step to take in answering the question &#8220;How quickly does an electric car charge at home?&#8221; then is to know the battery and its capacity well.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-text-color\" id=\"esempio-pratico\">2<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Practical example: how long it takes to charge an electric car at home<\/h2>\n\n<p>Assume a <strong>home charging<\/strong> during the night, with the most <em>basic<\/em> meter possible<strong>(3 kW<\/strong>), <strong>of a car with a capacity of 40 kWh.<\/strong> Let&#8217;s also consider a <strong>nighttime household consumption <\/strong>of about <strong>0.5kW<\/strong> (appliances, cell phone charging, etc&#8230; ), which <strong>then leaves us with about 2.5 kW available for charging the car.<\/strong> To arrive at a <strong>60%<\/strong> charge, the calculation is this: <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>60% of 40 kWh<\/strong> is about <strong>24 kWh<\/strong>. Adherence to the ARERA experiment.<\/h2>\n\n<p>Continuing with the example above, the <strong>9.6<\/strong> <strong>hours<\/strong> in the case of joining the <a href=\"https:\/\/silla.industries\/?p=1767\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ARERA<\/a> trial <strong>would become 4.4 hours.<\/strong> The free trial allows the meter power during night and holiday hours to be increased to 6kW, without any increase in fixed costs, <strong>thus leaving about 5.5 kW<\/strong> available for car charging. The 24 kWh in the previous example, being able to rely on about 5.5kW of available power, would then be recharged in:  <\/p>\n\n<p>  24 kWh \/ 5.5 kW = <strong>4.4 hours<\/strong> <strong>to charge an electric car at home<\/strong> <strong>by joining the ARERA trial.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>In both cases, a more than acceptable amount of time, especially organizing our activities according to the charging times required by our electric car.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-text-color\" id=\"idea-precisa\">4.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. How quickly can an electric car be recharged at home? How to get a better idea: <\/h2>\n\n<p>In thinking about recharging we often end up imagining unrealistic situations in which we find ourselves with a dead battery every night and are forced to initiate daily 0 to 100% recharging, which, in the case of powerful cars, can take up to 13\/14 hours. By the way, the same 100% charging is not recommended every day as it would ruin the integrity of the battery in the long run. <\/p>\n\n<p>Wanting to draw a parallel (which we discourage, although that this time helps to better explain our answer) with the world of heat-powered cars, &#8220;a full tank&#8221; is not done every day, except in view of a long journey. Having made these considerations here is where it becomes more realistic to say that, as a rule, <strong>we will charge the car from a minimum tolerance of 20% to a maximum of 80%, and maybe not even every day! <\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<p>So how do we get a better idea of how long it takes, on average, to get an acceptable recharge?
