Prism AIR: the first wireless charging for electric cars is Italian

Silla Industries launches Prism AIR based on Fast Object Operational Language technology for cable-less charging

Thank you to all the friends who wanted to play with us this April 1, 2021!
Thank you for all the amused messages, thank you to those who contacted us via email and chat, those who phoned us, those who commented, thank you to those who understood the joke and also to those who were upset when they found out they forgot it was April 1.
Prism is the most advanced universal charger on the market, and the coming months will see it enriched with new features, and three new versions will complete the current range.

For wireless charging through the normal charging connector … it will still take some time. 🙂

Padua, April 1, 2021 – Silla Industries, the Padua-based e-mobility startup founded in January this year, is anticipating the market by presenting Prism AIR based on the American FOOL(Fast Object Operational Language) technology: the revolutionary solution that allows electric cars to be recharged wirelessly, without the need to connect the car to a cable anymore.

“It started with induction stoves and then moved on to wireless charging of small devices such as smartphones, earbuds and smartwatches. Now the technology is ripe for more challenging tasks, and Prism AIR, which is a true revolution, proves it ” comments Alberto Stecca, founder of Silla Industries with Cristiano Griletti and CEO.

The new solution proposed by Silla is called Prism AIR and is an upgraded version of Prism Solar, modified for short-distance transmission of electricity capable of recharging-without cables-an electric car with a current of up to 32A in alternating current, the amount of maximum single-phase charging current for an electric car.

Cristiano Griletti, head of R&D at Silla, is confident that “this wireless technology will radically change the installations of charging stations and charging times, without wasting time connecting and disconnecting the car: the single-phase version is already ready for commercialization, while the three-phase version will follow shortly.”

Thus, the new version of Prism was born without a cable connection to the car: through an ad-hoc made and supplied connector, the electric car will be able to wirelessly receive the electricity transmitted by Prism up to a maximum distance of 42 meters; but the R&D team is already working on future versions that will further extend the range.

Resumes Griletti, “being able to use a wireless connection for power transmission also allows for significant benefits in terms of energy saved, because it eliminates line losses due to the resistance of the cable itself, a problem common to all chargers as well as distribution networks.”

Prism AIR has the same design as Prism Solar, which has made the universal charger for electric cars iconic: in addition to the differential protections normally found in all products in the range, however, it adds an additional protection designed to intervene when electrostatic currents should interfere with charging, suspending it momentarily and then resuming it as soon as possible.
