Padua – Ispra, Feb. 20, 2024 – A successful partnership, which is up for imminent renewal, has linked the Joint Research Centre (JRC), which provides technical and scientific support for the design, development, implementation and monitoring of EU mobility policies, to Silla Industries, an Italian SME, for the past four years.
Since its founding, Silla has been selected by the JRC as the only European manufacturer for charging tools used in testing new technologies for electric mobility.
The new phase of the research, starting these days, has as its object the study and implementation of ISO 15118-20, the reference standard on simplified communication interface between vehicles, charging stations and the Smart Grid, as an enabling factor for the spread of e-mobility. The agreement envisages its use, as well as the installation of an additional 10 columns, in the context of experimentation and testing with new vehicle models coming to market, designed to enable bidirectionality. The Solar range chargers will then be used as actual research tools, as part of a living lab project dedicated to JRC staff.
“The evolution of the partnership fully responds to developments in the electric mobility market, which is moving more and more towards vehicles capable not only of absorbing energy, but also of supplying it to the grid: a driver of diffusion and simplification in the use of charging technologies. Strengthening the relationship with the JRC has great value for us, and for tomorrow’s market,” comments Alberto Stecca, CEO of Silla Industries.
