Car incentives 2024: comprehensive guide to the new Italian Ecobonus

Released the decree regulating access to car incentives. Find out what models it is intended for, what the requirements are for applicants, and how to access them.

Some say that, the wait for the arrival of these incentives in the Official Gazette has been the longest on record since 1997*. We, for our part, have good reason to believe that bonuses related to thepurchase and installation of home charging stations will break this record.

In the meantime, however, we are pleased to share with you the release of the auto ecobonus for 2024.

A few hours ago, the decree regulating access to car incentives in Italy entered the Gazette.

The Italian government has approved a new incentive scheme aimed at promoting the purchase of environmentally friendly vehicles, including electric cars, hybrids and commercial vehicles.

The new bonus is a concrete response to the needs for more sustainable mobility and aligns with the goals of the National Integrated Energy Plan and Agenda 2030.

Ecobonus 2024: everything you need to know

What types of cars are covered by the new incentives?

Starting June 3, it will be possible to submit applications to access the incentives. The maximum bonus provided is 13,500 euros for households with an ISEE of less than 30,000 euros.

In addition, the list price of vehicles (excluding VAT) must not exceed 35,000 euros for the 0-20 g/km and 61-135 g/km CO2 ranges, and 45,000 euros for the 21-60 g/km CO2 range.

How does the car ecobonus work?

The process is simple: the dealer or retailer, after registering with the dedicated platform, on the Mise website, can initiate the reservation of the grant for each vehicle.

Depending on the availability of the fund, it will receive confirmation and may recognize the contribution to the customer by offsetting the purchase price.

Thereafter, the vehicle manufacturer or importer reimburses the dealer or retailer for the contribution made in the form of a tax credit.

At this point, many of you may be wondering: and what happened to the much-promised incentives that affect, instead, columns like Prism Basic and Prism Solar?

For now we stand by, knowing that, however, this is still a step forward that gives us hope for an upcoming release.
