In the same days when the ecobonus, intended for the purchase of cars belonging to the 0-20 g/km CO2 range, was running out, the legislature intervened by releasing the Decree that electric motorists had been waiting for a while: at last the state eco-incentives dedicated to the columns have been confirmed!
The Decree, released under MIMIT’s signature on June 13, officially validates and unlocks the resources announced in recent months.
MIMIT decree for electric column bonus 2024: the detail
With the June measure, the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy takes action on state incentives for the purchase and installation of home charging points, defining, in particular, the amount of subsidy and eligible expenses:
Recipients of the measure: The incentive is aimed at individuals and condominium owners, represented by the administrator pro tempore or condominium proxy, for parts of common use.
Amount of contribution: the Ministry will have the possibility to grant a contribution equal to 80% of the purchase and installation price, up to a maximum limit of €1500 per individual applicant. In case of installation on the common parts of condominium buildings, the maximum limit that can be granted is raised to €8000. Please note: the grant cannot be combined with other facilities.
Eligible expenses: For the current year, expenses incurred from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, will be eligible; they will cover the purchase of the charging infrastructure and its installation, to be carried out in a workmanlike manner. Please also note that expenses must be subject to traceable payment.
Specifically, these expenses will cover:
- The purchase and installation of charging infrastructure (including expenses for the installation of charging stations, electrical systems, strictly necessary construction work, and monitoring equipment and devices);
- Expenses for design, construction management, safety and testing;
- costs of connecting to the power grid, through activation of a new POD (point of delivery).
They are not considered eligible, however:
- Expenses for taxes, fees and charges of any kind;
- consulting fees (except for design, construction management, safety and testing fees);
- Expenses related to land and buildings;
- expenses related to the purchase of services other than those provided, even if they are functional to the installation;
- Expenses for costs related to building permits, construction and operation.
Ways to access the bonus
The Decree confirmed the funds available, but contains no information about the opening date of the window, the platform to be used to apply, and the exact process to be followed.
In a subsequent official communication, which we hope will be released as soon as possible, the Ministry will go on to define the time and manner of enforcing its request and indicate the platform designated to receive such requests.
