Padua, Feb. 17, 2021 – E-mobility continues to reap victims, bringing a growing number of drivers closer to electric and hybrid cars. Data says as much, such as those of Arval, which has placed e-mobility at the heart of its new five-year strategic plan to reach 2 million leased vehicles, 500,000 of them electrified, by 2025. Already, its percentage of electric cars exceeds 5 percent (against a national average of 1.7 percent). The trend, also supported by numerous government incentives, is unstoppable.
Bringing a new plug-and-play solution to the industry comes Silla Industries, a start-up from Padua born in January 2020, which has developed Prism DUO for corporate parking lots.
An integral part of the Prism range, Prism Solar DUO is equipped with two outlets for the simultaneous charging of two electric cars, with a delivery capacity of up to 7.4kW depending on the type of system for each of the two outlets (with a single-phase system it will be able to deliver a maximum of 7.4kW as the sum of the power delivered by the two outlets; in a three-phase system, on the other hand, it will be able to deliver up to 7.4kW for each). Easy and versatile, it is suitable for any single-phase or three-phase meter of any power rating.
Silla Industries’ charger has a big atout: automatic consumption regulation to avoid disconnection from the grid. Regardless of the installed meter, Prism Solar DUO automatically adjusts the power sent to the cars, measuring the energy absorbed by the rest of the building, so that the meter never intervenes for overloads due to the car fleet, avoiding blackouts.
In cases where buildings have photovoltaic systems, Prism Solar DUO is able to use the energy thus produced to recharge cars, using the excess production instead of releasing it to the grid.
As it has a built-in cable with Type2 connector, the standard in Europe, it has no compatibility issues and is managed via smartphone/desktop and via the cloud, with an internet connection via WiFi or Ethernet cable. Prism’s internal WiFi, also acting as a signal repeater, ensures that the car’s firmware can be updated during charging.
Finally, it is equipped with RCM (Residual Current Monitor) to reduce installation costs and comes with two cable holders to make it even easier to use DUO.
