Traveling in Europe with an electric car has become easier nowadays. Even Google Maps started to pinpoint charging station locations, though it doesn’t offer important information like:
- payment options
- EV community information.
If you want to schedule your e-trip keeping in mind not only the fun parts but also the charging breaks needed and here are some really useful apps you can download (for IOS and Android) for planning it like a boss.
#1 Covidzone (website)
Although Covid-19 still keeps us on our toes, eventually travel boundaries between geographic areas will eventually be dissipated, so if you happen to be in Italy on a trip with your ecar this is definitely the website to keep in mind to plan for it.
Covidzone is a webapp with a simple interface that shows the covid zone map of Italy by reporting the situation where each individual region is live.
For example, white: means its ok, you can hangout without any issues following gubernamental instructions; orange means that there are certain restrictions that must be followed: like wearing a mask, curfew hours and so; and red which means that its a high level Covid area so displacements are prohibited.
All descriptions necessary are mentioned according to the region you want to travel to, Including urgent measures and gubernamental orders.

#7 Toilet Finder
Okay, this particular app is useful if you are traveling with an electric vehicle or not. But-why is it on this list? Well, let’s face it, everyone eventually needs to visit the restroom at least once a day, and it’s harder to find one when traveling to a place for the first time.
This free app was also developed with the help of its users, so it works like a trip advisor–but for bathrooms. Members of its community rate each bathroom by specifying whether the bathrooms are clean, suitable for people with special needs, etc.
And how many establishments are we talking about? well, they have in their cloud at least 150,000 bathrooms around the world.

#9 my.silla.cloud (Web app)
Okay, this is also a webapp, so the interesting part starts with the fact that you don’t have to download it to your phone (so it doesn’t take up space on your phone). But the difference is this: you have to have a Prism Solar to charge your electric car. Before charging your vehicle the night before your trip, you can:
Configure your time table by setting the start and end of charging during the night by selecting: Night Mode in the dashboard.
Example: start charging at 11:00 p.m. on Monday and end charging at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
This allows you to charge your electric car during times of day when domestic electricity is cheaper (these times depend on your energy provider).
You must remember one thing though: outside of these time slots, Night Mode will pause Prism.
