If you are driving an electric car, or considering buying one, you know that the real game changer in everyday life is being able to recharge in your own garage or parking lot, without depending on public charging stations, without queues, and, most importantly, without nasty surprises on your bill.
But how much does it really cost to install a wallbox? And most importantly: are there any concessions to lower the expense? The answer is yes, and in this article we tell you all about it starting with Prism Basic, the Italian wallbox designed precisely for those who want the best without sacrificing simplicity and affordability.
Wallbox bonuses and deductions: what the legislation provides – updated April 2026
Installing a wallbox is an investment, but the Italian state has over the years built a concrete subsidy system to lower its cost. As of April 2026, there are two viable routes to consider to install a wallbox at your italian residence, one already active, one coming soon.
50% IRPEF deduction – renovation bonus (current)
This route is available now. If you are renovating your home, wallbox installation is among the expenses eligible for the Renovation Bonus: you recover 50 percent of the expense in your tax return (730 or REDDITI PF form), divided into 10 equal annual installments. To access it, it is mandatory to pay by tax-advantaged talking money transfer and keep all documentation: electronic invoice and traceable payment receipt (source: edilizia.com).
Bonus Home Columns (coming soon)
As of April 2026, the new window is not yet open, but the government has confirmed the refinancing of the 2026-2030 automotive fund with resources dedicated to private charging infrastructure, and the implementing DPCM is being prepared (source: factalex.co.uk).
The most important thing to do now, if you are installing your wallbox, is to keep all the documentation as of now: electronic invoice, transfer receipt and declaration of compliance issued by the installer. When the new counter opens, be ready with your documents in order for the upcoming calls for bids. Keep an eye on our blog: we will update as soon as there is official news from MIMIT.
Prism Basic: designed for those who want to install immediately, well and without complications
Against this backdrop, Silla Industries has developed Prism Basic as a concrete response to the growing needs of those (private individuals, surveyors, architects, or installers) who want to tackle simple, fast, and cost-effective installation.
Prism Basic was created as an essential and accessible version of the parent Prism Solar, maintaining its construction quality and design philosophy. It is a universal charger for electric vehicles designed, developed and manufactured entirely in Italy, a detail that counts for both certified quality and compatibility with national regulations and tax deductions.
As Alberto Stecca, CEO and co-founder of Silla Industries, explained:
“We listened to the requests and identified Prism Basic as the right solution for the growing needs of the market.”
What cars does it work with?
Prism Basic works with all vehicles equipped with a Type 2 connector the European standard for charging pure electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). In practice, it is compatible with almost all electric cars on the European market today. It comes in a single-phase version, with a 5-meter cable included.
Features that make a difference
Prism Basic is suitable for any single-phase meter of any power rating.
This means that it can also be connected to meters of lower power rating (e.g., 3kW) while still allowing charging management of an electric car. It also automatically adjusts consumption to avoid disconnection from the grid. Regardless of the meter installed, Prism Basic automatically adjusts the power sent to the car, measuring the energy absorbed by the rest of the house, so that the meter never intervenes for overloads due to your electric car, avoiding leaving you in the dark.
On the electrical safety front, Prism Basic integrates an internal RCM (Residual Current Monitor), which constantly monitors the circuit and automatically cuts off the power supply at the first sign of an abnormality. It is one of the features that distinguishes a professional wallbox from a simple charging adapter.
The installation is designed to be quick and with reduced turnaround time, a real advantage for both the person who has to arrange the work and the installer.
The upgrade to Prism Solar
One of the smartest design choices of Prism Basic is its modularity. Those who choose the Basic version today do not close the door on advanced features: at any time they can replace the standard front panel with the Prism Solar front panel, available as a separate aftermarket accessory, and turn their wallbox into a full-fledged smart charging station.
With the Solar front, you access features such as remote control via the cloud, management of excess energy produced by a photovoltaic system (so you can charge your car “for free” with the sun at home), scheduling of charging by time slot to take advantage of the most advantageous biorational tariffs, and management via personal cards for shared environments.
In other words: Prism Basic is the ideal choice for those who want to get off to a good start, spend the right amount today, and be confident that they can evolve their charging system without having to start from scratch.
Why choose an Italian wallbox
Choosing a product designed and built in Italy means choosing a company that is familiar with Italian and European regulations, that has already accompanied thousands of installers and individuals in the process of accessing state bonuses, and that offers assistance on a product developed for the needs of the domestic market.
The history of Silla Industries and recharging incentives is a long one: we have followed each edition of the bonus column from the earliest hours, chronicling its evolution and supporting our customers at every stage.
In summary: Is Prism Basic the right wallbox for you?
If you’re looking for a wallbox that is reliable, easy to install, compatible with all electric vehicles, capable of protecting your home meter and manufactured in Italy, the answer is yes. If you are also thinking of taking advantage of state bonuses or the tax deduction related to building renovation, Prism Basic fits perfectly within the parameters provided by the benefits.
And if you want to add photovoltaics, remote management, or smart charging tomorrow, you won’t have to change wallboxes-just upgrade the front end.
Keep an eye on the Silla Industries blog for all updates on the new 2026 incentives as soon as the government publishes the implementing decree.
