Prism Solar is enriched with HoReCa

The new Made in Italy electric car charging service designed exclusively for customers in the hotel and restaurant industry.

Padua, Italy, September 2021 – Meeting the needs of hotels, restaurants, bars, gas stations and parking lots is the new HoReCa Service created to provide electric car charging for guests and patrons. Developed by Silla Industries, a young Italian company founded by Alberto Stecca and Cristiano Griletti, the new service enriches the features of Prism Solar, the parent product, married to the best functionality for the HoReCa world: ease of application and use; simplified management and maintenance; immediacy of reporting and transparency towards the customer with easy inclusion of the recharge cost in the receipt or invoice, in compliance with the latest regulations; but above all the possibility to make the best use of energy, including from renewable sources, to ensure profitable consumption.

An attractive business lever for all businesses that want to retain their customers and acquire new ones, increasing turnover. In addition, until 12/31, as established by the Relaunch Decree, Silla Industries offers the opportunity to take advantage of the 50% invoice discount on the purchase of Prism Solar, choosing to opt for the transfer of this credit instead of taking it as a deduction over 10 years, directly from the online shop, without additional bureaucratic procedures.

More and more Italian motorists are converting to electric, as UNRAE’s registration data well recount month after month: an increasingly significant share that adds to the very large slice of foreign tourists who have married e-mobility for years now. Also thanks to the tax breaks related to the ecobonus and the growing attention to sustainability, today there is a total of 180 thousand electric cars on the road with a growing interest in an increasingly attentive and informed public, which still has, as its only qualm, the fear of finding few charging stations to allow long journeys. That is why even abroad the availability of chargers along the highway network and major arterial roads has been the best support for the spread of e-mobility on the one hand and for merchants on the other, who have seen a net increase in customers and turnover. The sale of energy for electric vehicle charging services alone, an activity allowed to anyone with a VAT number, in compliance with current tax and technical regulations, can be a far from negligible source of energy compared to the core business of any sign.

“The data tell us that in 2019, according to the Smart Mobility Report 2020, there were 8,200 public and private charging points in Italy: the Motus-E study office surveyed 23,000 in June this year,” comments Alberto Stecca, CEO of Silla Industries. “The potential is endless: we are talking about an attentive and culturally evolved consumer, high spending, who carefully chooses the places where they stay, have lunch or dinner or even just coffee. The fast-charging service for their electric car is an important differentiating factor to increase the customer base and enter new information circuits on the places not to miss, in Italy, for those who love sustainability.”

By combining a Prism Solar with the HoReCa Service each merchant will be able to:

  • set a price per kWh for electricity delivered to charge customers’ vehicles
  • record and evaluate every charging session, calculating the total kWh delivered and the price of individual sessions
  • assign each session to a customer (useful for B&Bs or hotels where visitors stay several days and use the charging service more than once)
  • group together several sessions for one customer, giving an overall total payable
  • print a non-tax receipt for the customer’s charging session(s) (subsequently issuing a normal receipt, tax receipt or invoice)
  • Print a summary of the charging sessions delivered by Prism Solar.

Prism Solar is a universal charger for electric mobility, conceived, designed, developed and produced entirely in Italy, which is a true control and management hub between the sign and the energy sources available on the other. With unique features, it works with all electric vehicles equipped with a Type2 connector, the standard in Europe for charging fully electric vehicles (Battery Electric Vehicle) and plug-in hybrids (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). A simple RFID key, supplied as standard with all chargers in the Prism Solar range, will allow customers to activate the column for their own consumption, turning it off as soon as charging is complete to ensure accurate reporting of individual consumption.

The main features of Prism Solar include the ability to:

– use the excess energy produced by the solar system to recharge the batteries of the electric car, rather than giving this surplus to the power grid;

– configure load balancing to supplement the output of the PV system with a minimum amount of energy drawn from the grid when solar output is less, such as in winter, or not enough for charging the electric car;

– save on electricity drawn from the grid, even in the absence of a solar system, by scheduling charging and choosing the most convenient hourly rates;

– manage the power available at the meter, never exceeding it, automatically adjusting the charge delivered to the car to avoid voltage drops and blackouts;

– combine a storage system to draw energy only from the storage battery or from storage and the grid, up to the current limit set by the user, when the energy from the PV system is not sufficient;

– cut off the power supply at the first sign of malfunction, thanks to the differential switch contained inside;

– have control over the device and all charging status information thanks to the possibility of remote access through smartphones, computers and the cloud. And if connected via cable to the home router it becomes a real HotSpot repeater to have internet connection even in the garage and perform, for example, firmware updates of electric vehicles or install a video surveillance IP camera.
