Smart Cover is the front cover that allows you to upgrade Prism Basic: from being the primary home charger for electric vehicles to Prism Solar Single-phase, obtaining all the features not originally foreseen. By replacing the standard front cover of Prism Basic with the RFID Smart Cover, the charger retains all the original features of Prism Basic, but it also gets:
- The management of the excess energy produced by a photovoltaic system. Prism uses it to recharge the car instead of sending it to the electricity network
- It works well with an energy storage system, such as a Powerwall
- It is directly connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet (connecting it to your house router with a wire)
- The possibility to be managed via smartphone, desktop and cloud
- The integration of RFID reader

Your Prism Basic becomes Prism Solar with one small change.
Smart Cover is the easiest way to upgrade your wallbox. If you’ve already installed Prism Basic and have decided to make the leap toward a complete ecosystem featuring an app, remote control, solar-powered car charging, or RFID use, you don’t need to replace the wallbox. All you have to do is change the front cover.
In just a few minutes, Prism Basic gains all the features of Prism Solar Single-phase: remote management via the Silla app, integration with your photovoltaic system to charge your car with solar energy, time-slot charging scheduling, compatibility with energy storage systems such as Tesla Powerwall, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, OCPP protocol, and an RFID reader for access control.
What Smart Cover contains: the cover holds everything needed for the switch. The microprocessor for managing loads and solar production, the network board, the Wi-Fi module, the RFID reader, and the complete firmware. Your Prism Basic provides the structure and the power components; Smart Cover adds the brain.
The replacement is reversible. You can go back to the original cover at any time, with no permanent changes to the wallbox.
Who Smart Cover is for: anyone who purchased Prism Basic, even years ago, and wants to add connectivity and photovoltaic integration without paying for a whole new wallbox.

Is Smart Cover compatible with any version of Prism Basic?
Yes. Smart Cover is compatible with all versions of Prism Basic Single-phase, regardless of the purchase or installation date. The cover can be replaced at any time.
After installing Smart Cover, is Prism Basic identical to Prism Solar Single-phase?
Yes, in terms of functionality. Once Smart Cover is installed, your Prism Basic gains all the features of Prism Solar Single-phase: Silla app, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, RFID, Solar mode for photovoltaic integration, time-slot scheduling, OCPP, and ARERA compatibility. The charging power remains that of your system (up to 7.4 kW on single-phase).
Do I need an electrician to install the Smart Cover?
Replacing the cover doesn’t require any work on the electrical system. However, if the installation involves connecting an Ethernet cable or modifying internal wiring, it’s advisable to have a qualified technician assist you. Always check the manual before proceeding
Is the CT sensor (current clamp) already installed with Prism Basic still needed?
Yes. The CT sensor installed at the time of Prism Basic’s installation is compatible with Smart Cover and must be kept in place. It’s used for household load balancing, which remains active exactly as before.
Does Smart Cover include the RFID cards?
No. Smart Cover includes the RFID reader built into the cover, but the RFID cards must be purchased separately. For home use with a single user, RFID can be disabled and the wallbox works without authentication.
Can I purchase the Smart Cover even months after buying Prism Basic?
Yes, there’s no time limit. Smart Cover can be purchased at any time, even years after purchasing Prism Basic.
Installation guide
Before you start: read the full manual available by clicking here. The operation doesn’t require advanced electrical skills, but it must be carried out carefully, following the step-by-step instructions.
Step 1: Put Prism Basic in a safe state. Before touching the cover, make sure the wallbox is powered normally (you don’t need to switch it off from the panel, but you also shouldn’t remove any internal electrical parts). Follow the manual’s instructions for this step.
Step 2: Remove the original front cover. Unscrew the fixing screws on the standard cover. Keep them: you may need them if you ever want to return Prism Basic to its original configuration.
Step 3: Prepare the internal connector. Inside Prism Basic you’ll find a connector already set up for connecting Smart Cover. Refer to the manual to identify it correctly.
Step 4: Connect Smart Cover. Insert Smart Cover’s connector into its designated slot. If you have an Ethernet cable to connect, plug it into the appropriate port before closing.
Step 5: Secure the Smart Cover. Screw Smart Cover in place using the same screws as the original cover.
Step 6: Complete the guided setup. Prism Basic with Smart Cover now behaves like a Prism Solar. Follow the guided setup procedure to connect it to Wi-Fi and the Silla app.

You have 14 days from receipt of the product to exercise your right of withdrawal, without having to provide any reason. The product must be returned intact, uninstalled, and in its original packaging.

Prism Basic single-phase
Product delivery starting September 14
Prism Basic incorporates all the essential functions for charging an electric car:
- 230V single-phase version, for charging powers up to 7.4kW (depending on the meter to which it is connected)
- It is supplied with a 5mt cable (even if you park the car with the charging door far from Prism, the cable still reaches the car)
- It is suitable for any single-phase electric-meter, of any power (a 3kW meter is enough and when you boost the power of the electricity-meter, Prism Basic will be ready to provide even more power)
